1

Welcome to the cooking show, today we are making Apfelküchle.

2

For the ingredients, we need 3 sour apples, I have Granny Smith, you can also use other sour apples.

3

We need 30 g of sugar, 2 eggs, a pinch of salt, 100 ml of milk, and 150 g of flour.

4

We will also need powdered sugar and cinnamon and sugar for serving.

5

First, peel and core the apples. I have already done 2 apples and will show you how to do the last one.

6

Use a small sharp knife to cut around the core, making about 5-6 cuts from the top and bottom to remove the core.

7

Slice the apples into rings, about 1 cm thick.

8

In a bowl, combine 150 g of flour, 30 g of sugar, and a pinch of salt.

9

Add the 2 eggs and about 75 ml of milk to the mixture, stirring with a hand mixer.

10

Check the consistency of the batter; if it's too thick, add the remaining milk to reach a thicker batter that can coat the apples.

11

Heat oil in a pan, enough to cover the bottom well.

12

Once the oil is hot, dip each apple ring into the batter, letting excess batter drip off before placing it in the pan.

13

Fry the apple rings for about 3 minutes, flipping them after 1.5 minutes to ensure even browning.

14

Make sure the heat is medium to avoid burning; adjust as necessary.

15

Remove the fried apple rings and place them on a plate.

16

Dust with powdered sugar or serve with cinnamon and sugar.
