1

Peel the water chestnuts completely to remove the skin.

2

Cut the peeled water chestnuts into small pieces for easier grinding.

3

Grind the cut water chestnuts into a paste and set aside in a plate.

4

Heat a pan and add 2 tablespoons of ghee.

5

Add slit cardamom to the ghee and wait until it sizzles.

6

Once the cardamom is fragrant, add 50 grams of sugar and stir continuously until it turns brown.

7

Crush 10 almonds and add them to the pan for flavor.

8

Once the sugar is brown and slightly melted, add the water chestnut paste to the pan.

9

Keep the flame low and mix the paste with the sugar and ghee thoroughly.

10

Stir continuously to prevent the mixture from sticking to the bottom of the pan.

11

Once the mixture changes color to pink, add 1/2 glass of boiled milk and mix well.

12

Continue stirring until the halwa becomes dry, which takes about 5 minutes.

13

Once dry, remove from heat and plate the halwa.

14

Garnish with additional almonds and pistachios on top.
