Heat oil in a deep pan.

Cut the potatoes into equal sized cubes.

Check that the oil is hot and add in the potatoes.

Fry the potatoes over low to medium heat until golden brown, about 8-10 minutes.

Drain the fried potatoes onto kitchen towels and leave aside.

In a separate pan, heat oil and add finely chopped garlic, tomato puree, and finely chopped red chili pepper; mix well.
