Heat a kadhai on the gas stove.

Add 2 tablespoons of butter to the heated kadhai.

Pour in 1 cup of fresh cream and mix well until melted.

Add 1 cup of milk and stir until it comes to a boil.

Add 2 cups of milk powder and mix well.

Optionally, add saffron mixed in warm milk and stir.

Let the mixture thicken until it resembles a batter.

Remove from heat and let it cool for about 10 minutes, optionally refrigerate to set.

In another kadhai, add 1 tablespoon of ghee and heat it.

Add cashews, almonds, and pistachios and roast for 1-2 minutes.

Add raisins and chironji (optional) and mix well.

Transfer the mixture to a mixer jar and grind coarsely.

Add 1 tablespoon of condensed milk and mix well.

Grease hands with ghee and take a portion of the mixture to form a dough.

Shape the dough into modaks by hand, optionally using a mold.

Garnish with the roasted nut mixture inside the modak.

Shape and design the modaks as desired.
