Cultural Context

Jamaican-Style Shrimp Soup, often referred to as Fish Tea, is a beloved dish in Jamaica, traditionally enjoyed for its warming properties and rich flavors. This soup reflects the island's culinary heritage, using fresh seafood and local spices to create a comforting meal. It's common for families to gather around this dish, especially during cooler evenings or as a remedy for colds. In modern cuisine, variations have emerged, with some opting for different proteins or adding more vegetables, but the essence of the dish remains rooted in its Jamaican origins.
