The meat pie is a beloved Australian staple, often enjoyed at sporting events and family gatherings. Its origins can be traced back to British settlers, who brought their pie-making traditions to Australia. Today, variations abound, with fillings ranging from traditional minced meat to gourmet options, reflecting the diverse culinary landscape of the country.

Prepare the filling by mixing together meat, diced potato, chopped napa cabbage, minced garlic, ginger paste, cumin, black pepper, soy sauce, red chilli, toasted sesame seeds, cornstarch, and salt in a bowl.
Heat oil in a pan and sauté the filling mixture until the meat is cooked through and the vegetables are tender.
Let the filling cool down before using it.
Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thickness.
Cut the pastry into circles large enough to fit into your pie molds.
Place the pastry circles into the molds and fill them with the cooled filling.
Cover the filling with another layer of pastry and seal the edges by crimping them with a fork.
Make a few slits on top of the pastry to allow steam to escape during baking.
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Bake the pies in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
