1

Heat a pan on medium flame and add cooking oil.

2

Once the oil is hot, add chopped white onion and spring onions. Saute for about 1 minute until soft.

3

Add paprika, coriander, cumin, garlic powder, and a little black pepper to the pan.

4

Add 500 grams of ground meat to the pan and break it down with a spatula until well combined.

5

Add chopped carrots to the meat and let them cook together without adding water.

6

Add one seasoning cube to the meat and let it cook for about a minute.

7

Once the meat is cooked through and the carrots are slightly crunchy, garnish with coriander and turn off the heat. Allow the mixture to cool.

8

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes.

9

Roll out the homemade puff pastry on a floured surface to about half an inch thick.

10

Use a cookie cutter to cut out circles from the pastry, minimizing waste.

11

Scoop some meat filling onto each pastry circle, fold over, and seal with a fork.

12

Place the pies on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, ensuring they are spaced apart.

13

Poke holes in the pies with a knife to allow air to escape.

14

Crack an egg in a bowl, whisk it, and brush the egg wash on the pies for a golden brown color. Note: egg wash is optional; milk or buttermilk can be used instead.

15

Bake the meat pies in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, checking to ensure they do not burn.
