Pisupo, or Kale Supo Kapapulu, originates from Samoa and is a beloved dish that showcases the island's reliance on canned goods and local produce. Traditionally enjoyed during family gatherings and celebrations, it reflects the resourcefulness of Samoan cooking. Today, variations exist across the Pacific, adapting to local ingredients while maintaining its comforting essence.

Chop up onions and add them to a frying pan with olive oil.
Cook the onions until they are clear or translucent, stirring occasionally.
Chop tomatoes into small cubes and set aside.
Add minced garlic (about 1 tablespoon) to the frying pan with the onions and cook until fragrant.
Add 1 tablespoon of cornstarch and 1 teaspoon of mild curry to the onions and garlic, stirring to combine.
Incorporate 1 teaspoon of ground turmeric into the mixture.
Add the corned beef to the pan and cook for a couple of minutes, breaking it up as it cooks.
Pour in about 2.5 cups of water and add coconut milk, stirring to combine.
Add Worcestershire sauce for flavor.
Stir in the chopped tomatoes and add another cup of water if the mixture is too thick.
Cover and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
Stir the mixture again and add garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, basil, Mediterranean sea salt, and black peppercorn to taste.
Serve the stew over brown rice.
