Baked patties, or Pâté Haïtien, are a beloved street food in Haiti, often enjoyed as a snack or meal. These flaky pastries are filled with a savory mixture of seasoned meat and spices, reflecting the island's rich culinary heritage. Traditionally, they are served at gatherings and celebrations, showcasing the vibrant flavors of Haitian cuisine. Today, variations can be found in many Caribbean and Latin American countries, each with its own unique twist.

Jalapeño provides heat, while bell pepper is milder and more affordable.
Add 3.5 cups of flour to a mixing bowl.
Add 0.5 teaspoon of salt to the flour.
Add 3.5 tablespoons of butter to the bowl.
Add 1.5 cups of freezing water to the mixture.
Mix the ingredients until combined. If you don't have a mixer, you can use your hands.
Form the dough into a ball and place it in a ziplock bag with some flour to prevent sticking.
Refrigerate the dough for 20 minutes.
Grate 4 sticks of butter into a bowl.
Add 4 teaspoons of lemon juice and 0.5 teaspoon of salt to the grated butter and mix.
Add 0.5 cup of flour to the butter mixture to form a dough.
Flour a clean surface and shape the butter mixture into a rectangular shape.
Place the butter rectangle into a ziplock bag and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
Roll out the dough as flat as possible with a rolling pin.
Place the butter in the center of the rolled dough and fold the dough over the butter to encase it.
Fold the dough multiple times, rolling it out and refrigerating it after each fold. Repeat this process six times.
After each fold, flour the surface to prevent sticking.
Prepare the filling by cooking the pulled chicken with chopped bell peppers, onions, and habanero pepper.
Add Creole seasoning to the sautéing vegetables and chicken.
Once the filling is ready, remove the dough from the refrigerator and roll it out again for the final fold.
Cut off any excess dough for cleaner edges.
Add oil to a pan and heat it up before adding the sautéed vegetables and chicken.
