1 tablespoon oyster sauce

oyster sauce

🥗Healthier: low-sodium soy sauce

💰Cheaper: soy sauce

Low-sodium soy sauce reduces sodium content while maintaining flavor.

fish fillets

🥗Healthier: tofu

💰Cheaper: canned fish

Tofu offers a plant-based option, while canned fish is often less expensive.

1

Dab dry the fish to prevent splattering.

2

Season the fish with half a teaspoon of salt and a few dashes of black pepper, rubbing it well into the fish on both sides.

3

Turn on the heat to medium or medium-low and add a little vegetable oil to the pan.

4

Add 10 grams of julienned young ginger to the oil without waiting for the pan to heat up.

5

Move the ginger around in the oil to extract flavor and brown it until light golden brown, then remove it from the oil and set aside.

6

Increase the heat to medium-high and add the seasoned fish to the pan, frying one side for approximately 1-2 minutes until brown.

7

Flip the fish over and fry the other side until nicely browned.

8

Add 100 milliliters of water, 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce, 3 cloves of chopped garlic, 1 tablespoon of dark soy sauce, half a teaspoon of sugar, and half a teaspoon of sesame oil to the pan, mixing well.

9

Cover the pan and let it steam for approximately 1 minute.

10

After 1 minute, flip the fish to the other side and let it cook for a further 1 minute, adjusting the heat if the sauce seems too little.
