1 yellow onion
3/4 cup Italian style bread crumbs
1/4 cup milk
1 egg
1/2 tablespoon minced garlic
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon butter
3 tablespoons butter (for gravy)
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2-3 cups beef broth
2/3 cup heavy cream

In a large mixing bowl, place 1.5 lbs of ground beef and break it up.

Chop one yellow onion and add it to the ground beef.

Add 3/4 cup of Italian style bread crumbs to the mixture.

Add 1/4 cup of milk to the bread crumbs.

Crack one egg into a bowl and add it to the mixture.

Add 1/2 tablespoon of minced garlic, 3/4 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper.

Mix the ingredients until well combined and form meatballs.

Place the meatballs on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper.

Heat a long narrow skillet on medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil and 1 tablespoon of butter.

Once melted, add the meatballs and brown them on all sides.

Remove the meatballs and set them aside.

In the same pan, add 3 tablespoons of butter for the gravy and let it melt.

Add 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour and whisk for 2 minutes.

Gradually add 2-3 cups of beef broth while whisking to break up lumps.

Add 2/3 cup of heavy cream, a squeeze of mustard, and a little nutmeg to the sauce.

Allow the sauce to thicken and then add the meatballs back in, stirring to coat.
