1/2 onion
2 carrots
2 bell peppers
3.5 oz (100g) snow peas
2 tbsp cornstarch
2 tbsp cold water
1.5 tbsp oyster sauce
3 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp Chinese cooking wine
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup (120 ml) water
4 sprigs spring onions
bok choy (optional)
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp dried parsley
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp fennel seeds
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp dried thyme
1/4 tsp dried sage
1/8 tsp red pepper flakes
1 tbsp butter
1 cabbage (about 1.7 pounds / 770g)

Add 1 lb ground beef to the hot pan and break it up with a spatula.

Let the beef cook without stirring for a few minutes.

Stir and break up the beef while it cooks.

Push the beef to one side of the pan and add a little peanut oil.

Add 2 garlic cloves — sliced or minced, your choice.

Slice half an onion and add it to the frying pan, mixing well.

Coarsely chop two peeled carrots and add them to the stir-fry.

Cut two bell peppers into strips and add them to the frying pan along with about 3.5 oz (100g) of snow peas.

In a small bowl, mix 2 tbsp cornstarch with 2 tbsp cold water.

Pour this mixture over the meat and vegetables.

Add 1.5 tbsp oyster sauce, 3 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp Chinese cooking wine, 1 tsp sugar, and 1/2 tsp black pepper.

Mix everything together very well.

Add 1/2 cup (120 ml) of water to make it saucy.

Finely chop 4 sprigs of spring onions and add them to the mixture.

If using bok choy, cut the leaves in half lengthways and stir them into the rest.

Cook for a further 30 seconds and it's ready!
