Start by preparing the ingredients: 250 grams of minced beef, an onion, and stale bread.
Use half of the inside of the stale bread to help hold the kofte together.
Blend the onion and stale bread together until it forms a puree.
Add the minced beef to the puree.
Incorporate 0.5 teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate, 0.5 teaspoon of salt, and 0.5 teaspoon of pepper into the mixture.
Add 1 teaspoon of butter to the mixture and blend until it becomes a paste.
Wet your hands to shape the mixture into oval-shaped kofte, ensuring to create bumps for better surface area.
Heat a cast iron pan and check if it's hot enough by adding water to see if it evaporates.
Cook the kofte by turning them regularly to ensure even cooking, while also adding peppers and tomatoes to the pan.
Add 2 teaspoons of butter and hot water to the pan while cooking the kofte.
Prepare bread and tomatoes to soak up the juices from the kofte as they cook.
Serve the kofte with yogurt and pickles, if desired.
