1 kg of Ash Gourd/White Pumpkin
4 Green Cardamoms (peeled & crushed)
2 tsp. of Chemical Lime
3 cups (3/4 kg) of Sugar
1 tbsp. of Lemon Juice
1 tsp. of Rose Water
3 cups of Water

Peel and cut the Ash Gourd into rectangular pieces.

Soak the Ash Gourd pieces in a solution of Chemical Lime for a few hours.

Rinse the Ash Gourd pieces thoroughly to remove the Chemical Lime.

In a pot, combine the Ash Gourd pieces, Sugar, and Water. Cook until the Sugar dissolves and the mixture thickens.

Add the Lemon Juice, Rose Water, and crushed Green Cardamoms to the mixture.

Continue cooking until the Petha becomes translucent and tender.
