Add lemon juice and cardamom to the mixture.
Simmer on low heat for about 30-40 minutes, stirring frequently.
Continue cooking until the mixture thickens and becomes syrupy, about 10-15 minutes.
Remove from heat and let it cool completely.
Transfer to sterilized jars and seal tightly.
