1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
2 tsp Lemon Juice
2 tsp Red Chili Powder
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tsp Cumin Powder
2 tsp Coriander Powder
2 tsp Biryani Masala
1 tsp Garam Masala
1 cup/150gms Fresh Curd
1 tsp Salt
1/2 cup Fried Onions
Fresh Coriander
Fresh Mint Leaves
4-5 Green Chilis
2 tbsp Ghee/Clarified butter
2 Tomatoes
500 gms of Basmati Rice
2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Oil
1 tsp Shahi Cumin seeds or regular cumin seeds
1 small Stick of Cinnamon
4-5 Cloves
3-4 Green Cardamom
1 Black Cardamom
8-10 Black Pepper Corn
1 Bay Leaf
3-4 tbsp Oil/Clarified butter
1 tsp Cumin Seeds
1 stick of Cinnamon

2 Green Cardamom
2 Potato Cut in Cubes

Marinate the chicken with ginger garlic paste, lemon juice, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, biryani masala, garam masala, fresh curd, and salt. Let it sit for a while.

In a pot, heat ghee or clarified butter and add fried onions, fresh coriander, fresh mint leaves, and green chilis. Stir well.

Add chopped tomatoes and cook until soft.

In a separate pot, boil water and add basmati rice along with salt and cumin seeds. Cook until the rice is partially done, then drain.

Layer the marinated chicken mixture in the pot with the onion and tomato mixture, followed by a layer of the partially cooked rice.

Add whole spices like cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, black cardamom, black pepper corn, and bay leaf on top of the rice.

Cover the pot tightly and cook on low heat (dum) until the chicken is fully cooked and the flavors meld together.
