1

Wash gooseberries thoroughly 2 to 3 times and soak in water for a day.

2

Drain the water and let the gooseberries dry completely.

3

Prick each gooseberry with a fork carefully.

4

Boil enough water in a vessel and add the pricked gooseberries.

5

Boil the gooseberries for 2 minutes, then cover and let them sit in the hot water for 5 minutes.

6

Drain the gooseberries from the water.

7

In a separate pan, add 1.5 kilograms of sugar and 0.5 cup of water to make sugar syrup.

8

Turn on the flame and keep it low to dissolve the sugar gradually, stirring regularly.

9

Add the boiled gooseberries to the sugar syrup and continue to cook on low heat for about 25 minutes until the syrup thickens.

10

Check the syrup consistency by pouring a few drops into a bowl and stretching it between fingers to see if it forms threads.

11

Once the syrup is dense, turn off the flame and transfer the murabba to a glass container.

12

Peel and grind cardamom, then mix it with 1 tsp cardamom powder, 1 tsp black salt, and 0.5 tsp black pepper into the murabba.

13

Let the murabba sit for 2 to 3 days to absorb the syrup.
