Gradually add water to form a thick batter.
Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat until shimmering.
Scoop spoonfuls of the batter and carefully drop them into the hot oil.
Fry the pakoras until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes, turning occasionally.
Remove the pakoras with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Serve hot with chutney or sauce of choice.
