Add sugar, coconut, and condensed milk. Mix well together on medium flame. Add salt, red food colouring, and vanilla essence.
Constantly mix the mixture. Don’t stop mixing until it thickens.
When it is almost in a dough form, turn the flame medium to low. When it is completely in dough form (where it gets hard to mix), turn off the flame.
Immediately transfer to a tray lined with baking paper to prevent sticking.
Evenly spread out the mixture and smooth it out with a bit of butter to make the smoothing process easier.
Let it cool down completely, and cut it into pieces.
