Cut brioche hollow loaf into one inch thick pieces.
In a bowl, combine heavy cream, milk, eggs, vanilla extract, brown sugar, salt, and cardamom.
Transfer mixture to a larger bowl and whisk until combined, breaking all yolks and egg whites.
Add butter to the custard mixture and whisk until incorporated.
Arrange the brioche slices in a 9-inch casserole dish, alternating them for even soaking.
Pour the custard mixture over the bread, ensuring all pieces are soaked.
Refrigerate for a couple of hours to allow the bread to absorb the custard.
Preheat the oven before baking.
Sprinkle sugar on top of the soaked bread before baking for caramelization.
Bake in the oven until golden brown.
Let cool slightly before serving with whipped cream and berries.
