Let the ribs marinate for about 15-20 minutes.
Bring the ribs to a boil in a pot, adding the scotch bonnet pepper for flavor without popping it.
Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for about 40 minutes, checking for tenderness.
Transfer the ribs to an oven-safe pan and place them under the broiler on high to brown the top.
Apply barbecue sauce over the ribs and broil for a few minutes until the sauce sticks and the ribs are slightly darkened.
