1

Add 4 teaspoons of dry active yeast and 2 teaspoons of white sugar to 1 cup of lukewarm water and whisk together.

2

Let the yeast mixture sit for 5 to 10 minutes until it becomes bubbly.

3

Add 1/2 cup of yogurt, 1/2 cup of olive oil, and 2 eggs to the yeast mixture and whisk until combined.

4

In a large bowl, add 5 cups of all-purpose flour and salt, then make a well in the center.

5

Pour the liquid mixture into the well of the flour and mix until combined, using your hands if necessary.

6

Once the dough is mixed, add a little olive oil to the bottom of the bowl to prevent sticking, then cover with a damp cloth and let rise for 1 hour.

7

After 1 hour, punch down the dough and fold it over, then tear off small pieces to roll out.

8

On a floured surface, roll each piece into a circle about 5 inches in diameter.

9

Preheat a cast-iron plate or skillet on the gas stove and add a little olive oil.

10

Place the rolled naan onto the hot cast-iron plate and cook until it bubbles, then flip and cook the other side until golden.

11

Repeat the cooking process for all pieces of dough, adding olive oil every second or third naan to prevent sticking.

12

Once all naan is cooked, serve immediately or freeze for later use.
