Prepare a steamer by filling it with water and bringing it to a boil.

In a saucepan, combine sugar and water over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and turns golden brown, about 8-10 minutes.

Pour the caramel into a round mold, tilting to coat the bottom evenly, and let it cool and harden.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together egg yolks, condensed milk, evaporated milk, vanilla extract until smooth.

Strain the mixture through a fine sieve into the mold over the hardened caramel.

Cover the mold with aluminum foil to prevent water from dripping in during steaming.

Place the mold in the steamer and steam for about 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
