Soak chickpeas overnight.

In a cooker, add bay leaf, black cardamom, cloves, cinnamon stick, four peeled potatoes, and the soaked chickpeas. Cook for 3-4 whistles.

In a pan, heat oil, add cumin and let it splatter, then add chopped onion and fry till golden brown.

Add ginger garlic paste and green chilies, fry until the raw smell goes away.

Add turmeric, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and pepper powder, and sauté for some time.

Add tomato purée, cover, and cook until oil separates.

Add amchur powder, garam masala, and kasoori methi. Mix well.

Add in the boiled chickpeas and potatoes, coarsely mash the potatoes and chickpeas. Add salt and combine well.

Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Garnish with coriander and serve hot.
