Guava Jam

4 cups guava, peeled and chopped
2 cups sugar
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
1/4 cup water

In a large pot, combine the chopped guava and water. Cook over medium heat until the guava is soft, about 10-15 minutes.

Mash the guava with a potato masher or fork to break it down into a pulp.

Add the sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon (if using) to the pot. Stir well to combine.

Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring frequently to prevent sticking.

Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium and let it simmer for about 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens and reaches a jam-like consistency.

To test the consistency, place a small amount on a plate and let it cool for a minute. If it holds its shape, it's ready.

Remove the pot from heat and let it cool slightly before transferring to sterilized jars.

Seal the jars and let them cool completely at room temperature before storing in the refrigerator.
