Preheat 2 teaspoons of olive oil in a pressure cooker pot on medium heat.

Add 1/2 of the chopped onion and 1/2 of the chopped garlic to the pot.

Add 2 tablespoons of green seasoning and mix all ingredients with a spatula.

Wash the split peas and add them to the seasonings and spices, mixing well.

Add 4-4 1/2 cups of water and mix all ingredients again.

Add the second half of the chopped onion and 1 chopped celery branch for extra flavor.

Bring the split peas to a boil, then tightly cover the pressure cooker pot.

Cook the split peas for 30-35 minutes, reducing heat to low.

Mix the peas occasionally as they tend to settle at the bottom of the pot.

Add 2 teaspoons of curry powder to the split peas and mix well.

Sprinkle some onion powder and seasoning salt into the peas.

Whisk the ingredients together to break up any settled peas.

Allow the dhal to cook for an additional 3-5 minutes, tasting for additional seasonings.
