Warm up the milk and add in the yeast, set aside until frothy.
Whisk the bread flour with salt and sugar and set aside.
Beat the eggs until bubbly, then add in the yeast mixture, melted butter, heavy cream, and vanilla extract, and vinegar.
Stir until mixed well with the flour mixture, creating a well and adding part of the egg mixture.
Using a wooden spoon, mix together while slowly adding in the wet ingredients until the dough looks loose and shaggy.
Transfer to a flat surface and knead until smooth.
Transfer to a large bowl, cover with a towel or plastic wrap, and let rise for 2 hours or until doubled in size.
Form the malasadas by taking pieces of dough and shaping them into 2-inch disks, either by hand or cutting circular shapes.
Set on a baking sheet, cover, and let rise for another 2 hours.
Heat 2 inches of oil, carefully add in the dough, and cook for about 2 minutes until golden brown, flipping to cook the other side.
Remove from oil and set aside on a wire rack with a baking sheet underneath to catch excess oil.
Once cooled, roll the malasadas in sugar until coated on all sides.
If desired, fill the malasadas by cutting a small hole and using a pastry bag or ziplock bag to add filling.
