Instructions

  1. 1In a large pot, bring 4 quarts of water to a boil over high heat.
  2. 2Add the Old Bay seasoning, salt, and cayenne pepper (if using) to the boiling water.
  3. 3Add the halved potatoes to the pot and cook for about 10 minutes, or until they are tender.
  4. 4Add the corn and sausage to the pot, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. 5Add the shrimp, lemon halves, onion, and garlic to the pot, and cook for 3-5 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.
  6. 6Remove the pot from heat and drain the contents into a large colander.
  7. 7Spread the shrimp, potatoes, corn, and sausage out on a newspaper-covered table or a large serving platter.
  8. 8Serve immediately with extra lemon wedges and hot sauce on the side.
