Tandoori Chicken Burger

The Tandoori Chicken Burger blends the traditional flavors of Indian tandoori cooking with the Western concept of a burger. Tandoori cooking originated in the Indian subcontinent, where marinated meats are cooked in a clay oven, known as a tandoor. This dish has gained popularity in fusion cuisine, appealing to those who enjoy spicy flavors in a familiar format. Today, variations can be found globally, often adapting the spice levels and toppings to local tastes.

Homemade blends can reduce sodium and cost.
Take 2 spoons of curd, paste of ginger and garlic, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, and a touch of turmeric powder in a bowl.
Mix the marinade until lump-free.
Cut boneless chicken breast into strips and chop lightly into tiny bites.
Add juice of half a lemon, ensuring to remove the seeds, and season with salt.
Mix the chicken with the marinade well.
Add a knob of butter to a pan and, before it changes color, add the marinated chicken pieces.
Pan-sear the chicken on high flame, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
Slice onions and capsicum while the chicken is cooking.
In the same pan, add a few drops of oil and the sliced onions and capsicum with a touch of salt.
Pan-fry the onions and capsicum until cooked and mixed well with the chicken.
Prepare charcoal for smoking while the chicken mixture is cooking.
Place the hot charcoal in a small steel bowl, add 1 tsp of oil, and cover to let the smoke infuse into the chicken mixture.
Slice the burger bun in half and spread mayonnaise on the base.
Add the pan-seared and smoked chicken on top of the mayonnaise.
Optionally, add more mayonnaise on top of the chicken.
Spread soft butter on the top half of the bun and pan-fry the assembled burger until the bun is crisp.
Serve the Tandoori Chicken Burger.
