Chebab

Today, Chebab is enjoyed not only in the UAE but also in various Middle Eastern countries, often served with honey or syrup for added sweetness.

Plain flour ( All purpose flour) - 1 cup ( 130g)
Sugar-1 & 1/2 tablespoon
Baking powder-1/4 teaspoon
Instant yeast-1/2 teaspoon
salt-1/4 teaspoon
Egg-1
Milk-1&1/4 cup
Oil-1 tablespoon
Ghee or butter-1-2 tablespoon
Saffron -10-12 threads
Cardamom powder-1/4 teaspoon

Mix Egg, sugar, saffron, cardamom powder, milk, salt and baking powder.

Add the flour gradually and mix until you get a smooth batter.

Cover and let the batter rest for 1-2 hours.

After 1 hour add the oil and mix.

The batter should not be thick or too thin. If thick batter add 1 or 2 teaspoon water.

Heat a pan and pour the batter.

Reduce the heat to medium and cook the pancake until bubbles come over the top.

Brush some ghee.

Flip the chebab and cook the other side for 1-2 minutes.

Remove from the pan.

Serve with cheese and honey or date syrup.
