Roughly chop garlic and ginger.

Add a touch of sunflower oil and five spice to the chicken.

Pour in dark soy sauce and mix well.

Cover the chicken with cling film and marinate in the fridge for a minimum of 2 hours, preferably overnight.

After marination, heat a touch of sunflower oil in a pan.

Add the marinated chicken to the pan, reserving the marinade for later use.

Cover the pan with a lid and cook on low heat for about 25 to 30 minutes, turning the chicken a few times.

After cooking, pour the reserved marinade over the chicken and cover for an additional 5 minutes before serving.
