1 tsp black peppercorns
2-3 dried Kashmiri chilies

1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp turmeric

Set a medium-sized pan over medium heat without oil.

Add 1 tablespoon of coriander seeds to the pan.

Add 2 teaspoons of cumin seeds to the pan.

Add 2 teaspoons of fenugreek seeds to the pan.

Add 9 green cardamom pods to the pan.

Add 1 teaspoon of black mustard seeds to the pan.

Add 1 teaspoon of black peppercorns to the pan.

Add 2-3 dried Kashmiri chilies to the pan, breaking them up if desired.

Toast the spices in the pan for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant and lightly browned.

Transfer the toasted spices to a bowl.

Grind the toasted spices in a spice grinder or Magic Bullet until smooth.
