Easy Air Fryer Tofu Steaks With Hoisin Sauce

Drain and press 1 block of extra firm tofu.

Optional: freeze and thaw tofu for improved texture.

Cut tofu into 10 equal slices.

Place tofu slices into a large mixing bowl.

Sprinkle 1 tbsp of cornstarch over the tofu slices.

Add 2 tbsp of low sodium soy sauce to the bowl.

Shake the bowl to ensure all tofu slices are evenly coated with cornstarch and soy sauce.

Spread the coated tofu slices evenly in the air fryer basket.

Cook tofu in the air fryer at 390°F for 4 minutes.

Check on the tofu and flip the slices halfway through cooking.

Continue cooking for an additional 4 to 6 minutes until crispy.

Remove tofu from the air fryer once crispy.

Pour 1/4 cup of hoisin sauce over the tofu.

Toss the tofu gently to coat with the hoisin sauce.

Sprinkle with sesame seeds and optional green onions.

Cut tofu into slices to serve.
