Chili Idli

1 capsicum, cubed
1 onion, chopped
10-12 idlis
1 tsp grated garlic
1 tsp grated ginger
1 tsp chopped green chilli
1 tbsp chopped green onion
3 tbsp chilly sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp tomato ketchup
salt to taste
1/4 tsp pepper powder
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp vinegar
oil to fry the idlis
2 tbsp corn flour
1 tbsp rice flour
1/3 cup water

Cut the cold idlis into bite-sized cubes.

Mix corn flour, rice flour and little salt in a bowl and toss the idlis. Set aside for 5 minutes.

Chop onion, cubed bell pepper, slit or finely chop the green chillies and grate ginger and garlic and set aside.

Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees F for 3 minutes. Place the idlis in the basket and spray them with non-stick spray. Cook it for 10 minutes or until golden brown and crisp, shaking the basket occasionally.

For stovetop frying, heat oil for shallow frying the idlis on medium flame until golden brown and crisp.

Heat a saucepan, add some oil. Add grated ginger, garlic, and chopped green chilli; sauté well for 2 minutes.

Add chopped onions, bell peppers, salt, and sauté for a couple of minutes. Add all the sauces and mix well. Add sugar, vinegar, and water.

Add the fried idlis and mix gently, sprinkle some spring onions, mix gently and cook on medium flame for a couple of minutes. Turn off the heat and serve chili idli hot with lemon wedges.
