Remove the stems from the spinach and wash thoroughly to remove sand and debris.

In a pot over medium heat, add the oil, diced onions, and chili; fry the onions until golden brown, about 10 to 12 minutes.

Once the onions are ready, add the pureed or diced tomatoes, garlic paste, turmeric, dhananjaya powder, and tomato paste; stir and fry for about 2 more minutes.

Add the chopped spinach and mix until fairly well combined.

Add 1/2 cup of water, cover the pot, and cook for another 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes, turn the flame on low and continue cooking for an additional 10 to 15 minutes until most of the water has evaporated.
