1

Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder into a bowl.

2

Add about 3 tablespoons of water to the cocoa powder and mix until smooth with no lumps.

3

In a flat non-stick pan, add 1 tablespoon of butter and melt it over low to medium-low heat.

4

Once the butter is melted, add the 14-ounce can of sweetened condensed milk and the cocoa mixture.

5

Continuously stir the mixture for about 10 to 12 minutes until it thickens and pulls away from the sides of the pan.

6

Transfer the mixture to a buttered plate and spread it out, letting it cool for 30 minutes.

7

Once cool, grease your palms with butter to prevent sticking.

8

Scoop out a tablespoon or half a tablespoon of the mixture and roll it into a ball.

9

Dip the balls in shredded coconut or chocolate sprinkles to coat them.

10

After shaping all the brigadeiros, place them in the fridge for 30 minutes for a firmer texture.
