- ●1 cup rolled oats
- ●2 cups almond milk
- ●1/2 cup dried figs, chopped
- ●2 tbsp cacao powder
- ●1 tbsp maple syrup
- ●1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- ●1/4 tsp salt
- ●1/4 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)
- ●1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- 1In a medium saucepan, combine the rolled oats, almond milk, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- 2Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until the oats are cooked and creamy.
- 3Stir in the cacao powder, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Mix well until fully combined.
- 4Add the chopped dried figs and stir to incorporate them into the oatmeal.
- 5If using, add the cinnamon and chopped walnuts for extra flavor and texture.
- 6Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the figs are warmed through.
- 7Remove from heat and let it sit for a minute to thicken slightly.
- 8Serve warm in bowls, garnished with additional figs or walnuts if desired.
