Add lukewarm milk, yeast, and sugar into a bowl of a stand mixer.
Stir and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes until yeast is activated and foamy.
Add lukewarm water, yogurt, flour, and salt to the bowl.
Using the dough hook attachment, mix everything together on low.
Increase the speed slightly and knead for about 8 to 10 minutes until a soft dough forms.
Lightly knead the dough by hand for a minute to check the texture.
Cover the bowl and let it rise in a warm spot for about an hour or until doubled in size.
Divide the risen dough into equal portions and shape each into a small ball.
Let the dough balls rest for about 5 minutes.
Flatten each ball into a round bun.
Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let them rest again for another 5 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
Before baking, lightly brush the tops with water and gently score them if desired.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until puffed up and golden brown on top.
Let them cool slightly before serving.
