Today, Lepinje is cherished not just in its homeland but also in various adaptations around the world, where it has become a beloved accompaniment to many dishes.

Sourdough adds flavor and probiotics.
Make a small well in the center of the flour.
Add the yeast and sugar to the well, then pour in the warm milk and stir for about 5 minutes to activate the yeast.
Add the warm water, salt, and yogurt to the mixture.
Knead the dough until it stops sticking to your fingers and is smooth and soft.
Grease the bowl and the dough with oil to prevent sticking while it rises.
Cover with plastic wrap and a cloth and set aside to rise until doubled in size.
Sprinkle some flour on your work surface and take out the dough.
Cut the dough into six equal parts and shape each part into a ball.
Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.
Stretch the dough with your hands to about 5 to 6 inches in diameter and half an inch thick.
Transfer the flatbreads into the oven using a baker's paddle or place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until golden brown.
