Pour in rinsed lentils and add water; bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until lentils are tender.
Add salt and stir well; adjust consistency with water if too thick.
Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice and chopped cilantro before serving.
