Arrange the flour in a well, make a hole in the center and add the beaten egg, the melted butter, the salt, the vinegar and the warmed water.

Knead until you get an elastic dough. Gather the dough, forming a ball and leave it to rest for about 1 hour, covering it with a floured cloth.

After the rest time, roll out the dough on a work surface until you obtain a thin sheet in the shape of a rectangle.

Transfer the dough onto a cloth dusted with flour and adjust well with your hands, to give it the shape of a rectangle.

Brush the surface with melted butter. Arrange the thinly sliced apples in the center, add the toasted breadcrumbs, raisins, sugar mixed with cinnamon and almonds.

Sprinkle everything with rum, mix lightly with your hands.

Wrap the dough on itself, lifting one end of the underlying cloth, so as to enclose the filling in the center and sealing the closing edges.

Transfer the strudel onto a greased baking tray and bake at 180°C for around 30 minutes.

Once cooked, remove from the oven, polish the surface with melted butter and sprinkle with icing sugar.
