½ tsp cumin seeds
1 chopped green chilli
½ inch grated ginger
¼th tsp asafoetida/ hing
½ tsp turmeric powder
Some curry leaves
3 tomatoes puree
Salt to taste
1 tbsp coriander powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp garam masala
1 cup water
2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

Prepare the spice paste by blending peanuts, coriander seeds, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, cloves, cardamom pods, dry coconut, dried red chillies, and water until smooth.

Add chopped green chilli, grated ginger, and asafoetida; sauté briefly.
