Welcome to the episode, introducing the Halifax Donair recipe.
Chop 4 cloves of garlic and 1 medium onion using a food processor or knife.
Add 2 pounds of ground beef to the food processor.
Blend the garlic, onion, and beef until it reaches a pasty consistency.
Add 2 teaspoons of garlic powder, 2 teaspoons of onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon of coriander, 2 teaspoons of oregano, 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne, and 1/2 teaspoon of red chili flakes to the beef mixture.
Drizzle in 1 tablespoon of olive oil and blend again until mixed well.
Pack the meat mixture into a loaf pan, ensuring there are no air pockets.
Preheat the air fryer to 325°F and place the loaf in it, cooking for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes.
While the meat is cooking, prepare the sweet sauce by combining 1 cup of full fat evaporated milk and 1 cup of granulated sugar in a bowl.
Whisk the mixture until the sugar dissolves, then add 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder and 1/4 cup of vinegar, pouring it in without whisking afterward to maintain thickness.
Refrigerate the sauce for a few hours to thicken.
Once the meat is cooked, slice it thinly using a sharp knife.
Steam the pita bread to make it pliable, either in a pan with a splash of water and a lid or by frying it lightly.
Layer the sliced donair meat on the warmed pita, adding a little sauce, diced tomatoes, and diced onions on top.
Wrap the pita around the fillings and enjoy the Halifax Donair.
