Daal Tadka

1 cup tuvar dal/arhar dal
1 TBSP Oil
7 to 8 Green chilies
3 to 4 Garlic cloves
¼ inch Ginger
7-8 Curry leaves
1 TSP Mustard Seeds
1 TSP Cumin seeds
2 pinches Asafetida
1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
1 tablespoon Fresh coriander leaves chopped
Salt to taste

Rinse the tuvar dal/arhar dal and cook it until soft.

In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and asafetida.

Once the seeds start to splutter, add chopped garlic, ginger, green chilies, and curry leaves.

Sauté until fragrant, then add the cooked dal.

Mix in turmeric powder and salt to taste, and simmer for a few minutes.

Garnish with chopped fresh coriander leaves before serving.
