Mix flour, a little bit of salt, oil, and warm water to form a dough.
Knead the dough by hand and slap it on the counter to build gluten until it becomes stretchy.
Wrap the dough and let it sit to relax.
Toast walnuts and mix them with sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
Toast bread crumbs until lightly browned, then add to the mixture.
Melt butter and brown it, then add to the filling mixture.
Cut the apples into sides of the core and slice them thinly.
Flour a tablecloth and stretch the dough out to a 2.5 by 2-foot rectangle.
Scatter the filling mixture over the dough, leaving an inch and a half from the edges.
Roll the dough over the filling using the tablecloth to assist.
Place the rolled strudel seam-side down on a baking sheet.
Bake in a 400°F (204°C) oven for 30 to 35 minutes until golden brown.
