mace - 1 small
black pepper - 1/2 tsp
cloves - 1/2 tsp
star anise - 2
bay leaf - 3
black cardamom - 3
onions - 4
turmeric - 1/2 tsp
kashmiri red chilli - 2 Tsp
coriander powder - 2 tsp
salt - 1/2 tsp or to taste
coriander leaves - a few
water - as required
green chillies slit - 5

Marinate chicken with yogurt, ginger garlic paste, crushed onions, salt, and oil.

Prepare the special garam masala by grinding cumin, whole red chillies, green cardamom, cinnamon, whole coriander, mace, black pepper, cloves, and star anise.
