Dissolve 1 packet of dry yeast (7 g) or ½ cube (21 g) of fresh yeast in 250 ml (1 cup) of lukewarm milk with 1 teaspoon of sugar and let rise for 10 minutes.

In a large bowl, combine 500 g (4 cups) of flour, 75 g (⅓ cup) of sugar, ½ teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of ground cardamom.

Add the milk with the yeast to the dry ingredients and knead everything into a smooth dough.

Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.

Prepare a spreadable mixture by mixing 100 g (7 tbsp) of softened butter, 75 g (⅓ cup) of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1 teaspoon of cardamom.

Roll out the dough and spread the prepared mixture over it.

Let the dough rise for another 20 minutes after spreading the mixture.

Beat 1 egg with 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of milk for the egg wash.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (356 °F) or 160 °C (320 °F) in a fan oven for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
