1 heaped teaspoon garlic and ginger paste

Put the stove on medium heat and add 1-2 tablespoons of vegetable oil to coat the bottom of the pot.

Add the powdered spices: 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 heaped teaspoon of paprika powder, 0.5 teaspoon of turmeric, 1 teaspoon of garam masala, 1 teaspoon of jeera powder, 1 teaspoon of red chili paste, 2 cloves, 1 cinnamon stick, and 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper. Stir and fry the spices for about 30 seconds.

Add 1 chopped onion to the pot and stir. Cook until the onions are soft, about 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes, add 1 teaspoon of chili powder and stir to keep the flavor.

Cook for another 5 minutes until the onions are browned and soft.

Add the 2 chopped tomatoes to the pot and stir. Close the pot and let it cook for about 20 minutes.

After 20 minutes, add the tinned fish. Rinse the can with a little water and add it to the pot to help cook.

Gently stir the mixture to avoid breaking the fish apart. Let it cook for another 10 minutes for the flavors to infuse.
