Servings4
1 cup split urad dal (black gram)
1/2 cup cooked prawns, chopped
1/2 onion, finely chopped
2 green chilies, finely chopped
1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
Oil for deep frying
1

Soak the split urad dal in water for 4-5 hours or overnight.

2

Drain the soaked dal and grind it to a coarse paste without adding water.

3

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground dal, chopped prawns, onion, green chilies, coriander leaves, ginger-garlic paste, cumin seeds, salt, and turmeric powder. Mix well.

4

Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.

5

Take a small portion of the mixture and shape it into a round vada (fritter).

6

Carefully drop the vada into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides.

7

Remove the vadas from the oil and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.

8

Repeat the process with the remaining mixture.

9

Serve hot with chutney or sauce of your choice.
