Beg's Soup, or Begova čorba, is a traditional Bosnian dish believed to have originated in the Ottoman Empire. It reflects the region's culinary heritage, combining simple ingredients into a hearty meal. Often served during special occasions and family gatherings, this soup embodies warmth and hospitality. Today, variations exist across the Balkans, showcasing local ingredients and flavors, making it a beloved comfort food.

Prepare 0.5 kg of chicken meat.
Chop 100 g of carrots and 80 g of celery root.
Add 1.5 l of water to a pot and cook the chicken meat.
Wash 100 g of okra with hot water.
Wash 100 g of rice, then cook the rice separately.
Strain the soup to separate the cooked chicken and vegetables.
Chop fresh parsley or 50 g of roots (optional).
Chop the cooked carrots and celery into smaller pieces.
Chop the okra and the cooked meat.
Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a pot, stir in 50 g of flour, and mix well.
Add the strained soup to the flour mixture and season with some salt.
Add all the chopped vegetables, meat, and cooked rice to the pot for the sauce.
In a bowl, mix 3 egg yolks with 200 ml of sour cream and the juice of half a lemon.
Combine everything together and mix well.
Season with pepper to taste and serve warm.
